Darkness to Light

Stewards of Children is a training program dedicated to providing a safe environment for children. Anyone who volunteers to work with children and all church officers must take the course and have a background check. Read about our safety policy under Policies and Forms.

The course is set up to be taken online at your convenience.

• Register for Stewards of Children.

• Print, complete, and return the Background Check Form.

Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry makes faith fun, interactive, and understandable for our little ones. We host events throughout the year, such as pool parties during the summer.

Contact Darcie Jones or Beth in the church office with questions about this program.

Youth Ministry

Where am I within my faith journey? How do I belong? These are the questions that youth want to know; our youth ministry offers space to learn and grow through worship, fellowship, study, and mission. We have a weekly Sunday meeting following worship at 11:00am. We enjoy summer trips to Montreat and Middle Montreat. Come find your place with us!

Contact Tyler Brock or the church office.

Sunday School

Each Sunday, we offer a wide array of classes for all ages and interests. We meet at 9a before the worship service for study and fellowship. Here are the current classes that meet:

Hannah Fellowship

Adult One

Lowry Welch

Living the Questions

Children's Sunday School

The children have an opportunity to gather prior to worship for study in our children's classroom. Our class meets during the worship hour. Following the Time for Young Disciples, our children are invited to leave the service and join the class as they continue studying as well as engage in play. Darcie Jones is the leader of this class.

Men’s Outlook Group

How does Moses make his coffee? Hebrews it. The Men's Outlook group meets for coffee and refreshments on the third Wednesday of every month.

Contact Tom Moynahan or Phil Vincent to ground up some conversation over a cup of joe (or you can call the church office).

Monday Morning Circle

Does the Monday Morning Circle meet for coffee on Mondays?

Contact Barbara Brown or the church office.

Sisters of Service

The Sisters of Service (SOS) is a group of women who meet for Bible study and who enjoy a strong bond of Christian fellowship. We lean on one another, learn from one another, love one another, and share that love with others. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from September to May. If you are looking to strengthen your faith in a loving environment, we hope you will join us!

Contact Lena Pope or the church office.

Calvin's Crew

Garden Guild

The Garden Guild has the pleasure and responsibility of maintaining the church's Cornerstone Garden as a place of meditation and peace. The Guild holds "work" hours irregularly and as major tasks are necessary, often to keep plantings in good condition or add seasonal color. Some members of the Guild are experienced gardeners, others also enjoy God's creation while learning by doing. There are no botanical wizards in the Guild, but they are most welcome. All additions to the group are welcome!

Chancel Choir

Even if you don’t read music or have a background singing with choirs, please consider joining us if you share our love of music! We meet every Wednesday from 7:15p to 8:00p in the choir room for rehearsal.

Contact Cliff Brock or the church office.

Handbell Choir

Our Handbell Choir meets every Wednesday afternoon from 5:15p to 6:15p. We are blessed to have a glorious 3 octave set of Whitechapel handbells. Playing handbells is good for the mind and the soul. We’d love for you to join us and make music together! \
